Design your garden with the AI you already use
Tell your AI what you want: a border along the back fence, a gravel path to the shed. Your AI puts it on your real parcel, and you see every step on your plan straight away.

Connect your AI
It works with any AI app that can add an MCP server. Pick your app and follow the steps.
In Claude, go to Customize › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
Paste this URL and choose Add:
Choose Connect. No login is needed.
This is how it works in Claude.ai and in the Claude app on your computer. A free account can add one custom connector. In a Team or Enterprise account, an owner adds it in the organisation settings.
In ChatGPT, turn on developer mode: Settings › Apps › Advanced settings › Developer mode.
Choose Apps › Create, paste this URL and set Authentication to No authentication:
Choose Create.
ChatGPT adds your own MCP server in developer mode. It comes with Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, where an admin turns it on.
Run this command in your terminal:
Run this command in your terminal:
The Codex app and the Codex extension in your editor read the same setting.
Run this command in your terminal:
Put this in ~/.cursor/mcp.json. If the file already lists servers, add only gardio.
Turn gardio on in Cursor Settings › MCP.
In the Command Palette, choose MCP: Open User Configuration and put this in:
Start gardio from MCP: List Servers.
Add a remote MCP server with this URL. Transport: Streamable HTTP. No login is needed.
If your app only starts servers on your own computer, have it run this command:
Then open your design, choose ‘Link your own AI’ and then ‘Get a code’, and give the code to your AI. Keep that tab open: your AI works through it. After an update of tuinontwerp.app, reconnect the server in your AI app. It then has the new tools.
Open your designOr copy this prompt and paste it into your AI app. It tells your AI how to add the server and where to start.
Put three hydrangeas along the back fence.
- Your AI reads your parcel and the buildings on it.
- It looks up the hydrangea in the plant list.
- Three hydrangeas appear on your plan, as one step.
- One click on Undo removes all three.
What your AI can do with your design
You say an idea in one sentence. Your AI puts it on your plan, you look at it and undo it or ask for another version. That way you try more variants than you would draw by hand.
- Read your parcel
- The address, the size and area of your parcel, the buildings on it and everything you have already placed. Which side faces the street, and where your front, back and side garden are. After a change your AI looks at a picture of your plan.
- Find what fits
- Plants with their width when fully grown and the light they grow well in, garden lights, and the paving and surfaces you can draw.
- Place plants and draw areas
- Plants in the spot you name. Beds, grass, gravel, water, sand, paths, terraces, structures and fences, inside your parcel boundary.
- Undo
- Every change your AI makes is one step in your design. Undo or Ctrl+Z removes it, the same as a step you made yourself. Your AI can also undo a step itself.
Your AI does not work out the sun and shade on a spot. You see that yourself in the design, hour by hour.
Where your design goes
Your design is stored in your browser. We do not keep it on our servers, not even while your AI works on it.
A request from your AI travels through our connection to your open tab, and the answer goes back the same way. That connection starts only when you get a code. While the link runs, it remembers the number, address and version of your design, so each request reaches the right tab. When the link stops, it forgets them.
What your AI reads, your AI provider sees too: the address, the parcel and the contents of the design you have open. What that provider does with it is set out in its own terms.
Questions
Which AI apps does it work with?
With any AI app that can add an MCP server, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor and VS Code. Pick your app at the top of this page for the steps. If your app is not listed, pick Another app.
Can anyone use this?
Not yet. The design tool is open only to the testers we invited. Your AI app does not log in anywhere: the code from your design is enough.
Does my design have to be open?
Yes. Your AI changes your design through the tab where you got the code. Close or reload that tab and the link stops; get a new code later.
What if I change something while my AI is working?
With every change, your AI can send the version of the design it read, and the server asks it to. If you changed something in the meantime, the design refuses that change. Your AI then reads the design again and tries once more, so it does not build on an old version.
